Pick the right orientation

Micro-drama is made to be watched on a phone held upright. NibbleFlix plays it in a vertical 9:16 player with swipe navigation between episodes. Films and series for OTT and smart TV apps are usually horizontal 16:9.

  • Shoot vertical from the start. Cropping a horizontal frame to 9:16 loses picture and often cuts off faces.
  • Respect the safe area. Keep faces and on-screen text away from the edges, where player controls sit.
  • Go horizontal for TV-first content. Long-form titles for smart TVs work best in 16:9.

Before you export

  1. Even out audio levels so viewers do not reach for the volume between episodes.
  2. Trim black frames and long silences at the start and end of each episode.
  3. Leave subtitles off the picture if you plan to offer more than one language.
  4. Name files consistently, for example series name, season and episode number.

Artwork and subtitles

  • A poster for each series plus a thumbnail for each episode.
  • Subtitle files timed to the final cut, not an earlier edit.
  • Titles and synopses ready to paste in during upload.

Upload and check

Upload through the CMS in the admin dashboard. Test one episode end to end before you upload a whole season.

  1. Upload one episode and watch it on a phone, the web app and a TV.
  2. Check subtitles are in sync and readable on each screen.
  3. Batch upload the rest once the first episode looks right.
  4. Schedule releases so new episodes go live on a steady rhythm.
